Associate Degree Programs Admission Requirements

Students seeking entry to a Health Professions Program seeking an Associate degree must meet program requirements as established by each degree program. Students who eventually want to complete a baccalaureate degree are encouraged to finish IUPUI General Education Core requirements. For example, students initially seeking an Associate degree in Radiography may benefit from meeting entry requirements to the Bachelor degree in Medical Imaging Technology.

Bachelor Degree Programs Admission Requirements

Students applying for admission into a Health Professions Program to seek a baccalaureate degree must follow the IUPUI General Education Core requirements. Note: Transfer students—whether from within the IU system, another state-supported institution in Indiana, or an out-of-state university—must also meet the General Education Core requirements unless requirements are completed at a different institution before entering Indiana University.

Students who have completed a domestic baccalaureate degree or otherwise met the IUPUI General Education Core requirements prior to admission/ transfer to IUPUI must meet the Fundamental Core requirements. These applicants should have the requirements documented as completed on the institution’s transcript. This applies to the State of Indiana General Education Core (STGEC) only. Students who complete a similar requirement outside Indiana or at private colleges or universities in Indiana must meet the GE Core.

Admissions Process

Students seeking admission to any IU School of Medicine Health Professions Programs must complete an IUPUI application for enrollment or be currently enrolled at IUPUI as a degree-seeking student. Actively enrolled degree-seeking students at IUPUI do not need to complete this process.

If the student last enrolled at IUPUI more than one year ago or was a non-degree seeking student, (s)he must update enrollment status. For assistance with the university application, applicants can contact IUPUI Undergraduate Admissions at 317-274-4591 or enroll@iupui.edu.

When submitting the IUPUI application, pay attention to the term of entry. This must match the program’s term of entry unless the applicant plans to enroll before the program starts.
