As the weather in Qatar transforms into a delightful embrace of pleasantness, it’s evident that the season for outdoor weekend brunches has arrived. Making a noteworthy return to the brunch scene is Antika Lounge inside Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl-Doha. Positioned on a rooftop, Antika Lounge captivates with its seamless blend of food delights, live musical performances, and sweeping panoramic sea views.
The restaurant’s name, Antika, bears a unique significance; in Lebanese Arabic, it often signifies a vintage or antique essence. Once inside, you’ll immediately appreciate how the interiors are adorned with an antique vibe, perfectly in line with this definition.
Now as we arrived early, we were amazed by the myriad of dining options and the breathtaking scenery they offer. Although they offer Lebanese-Arabic Cuisine, the buffet area showcased a diverse array of dishes—Tacos, Poke, Singaporean Laksa, Italian pasta, and Indian cuisine—with live cooking stations. The central bar offers an extensive drink selection whether you are drinking or not you will get to enjoy the other drinks they offer. Live entertainment by a talented singer and musician elevates the dining ambience.
The self-service buffet sets the stage for an engaging brunch, inviting guests to explore a diverse range of cuisines. Among my favourites, theCaesar salad stands out where the salty cheese perfectly complements the bread. The offerings showcase an extensive variety, from cold mezze and salads to an assortment of cheeses, cold cuts, and condiments, all accompanied by European bread options. Some memorable highlights included the tender beef paired with Rocca leaves, the classic Caesar salad, and a delightful assortment of cheeses that paired exquisitely with the bread.
Among the variety of dishes available on the buffet, there remained plenty left to discover. When we came back to our terrace table, we were served a selection of Hot Appetizers, including Chicken Musakhan Roll, Fried Chicken, Cheese Bite, and a delightful dipping sauce.
Returning to the buffet, we sampled their seafood selections, opting for Sushi, lobster, Oyster, tiger prawn, salmon, and deveined shrimp. Each of these dishes showcased its distinct flavours, making every bite a tribute to the ocean’s richness and diversity.
Continuing our food adventure, there’s still more to explore on their diverse menu. The Pani Puri awaits, offering diners a delightful experience. Soft tacos featuring shrimp and beef alongside pico de Gallo and guacamole are also available, creating a tantalising combination. Additionally, a live station for Italian Pasta, complete with a giant wheel of Parmesan, though slightly lacking in taste, presents perfectly cooked noodles.
Our taste adventure extended to trying the Singaporean Laksa, a noodle soup renowned for its delightful and aromatic flavours. This savoury dish embodies a blend of creamy, spicy, and tangy elements, creating a comforting and aromatic sensation that’s truly satisfying.
In addition to the buffet spread, every guest receives a main course included in their package, served directly to their table. Options include Beef Sliders with bacon jam, caramelised onion, and pickle, served with fries and a dipping sauce. The selection features Teriyaki Salmon, Braised Short Ribs, Chicken Pot Pie, Mushroom Pithiviere, and Pulpo Ala Galega.
As we thought we couldn’t possibly have more, an extensive selection of desserts beckoned. Our sweet ending featured Kunafa, a delightful Middle Eastern treat crafted from delicate shredded phyllo dough. Baklava, with its irresistible layers, joined the mix alongside a slice of moist chocolate cake that’s a must-try. And to top it off, an array of delightful cupcakes offered a range of tempting choices for everyone.
